Verity is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. Given half a chance, she could happily talk about Osteopathy all day long, but would much prefer that people experience it for themselves. Her approach to treatment is centered around removing the root cause of dysfunction, and helping patients rediscover their optimal health.
Just like it’s impossible to touch a single thread of a spider’s web without affecting the whole thing, her experience receiving Osteopathic treatments taught her that sometimes the areas of the body where pain or discomfort are felt are just the effect of dysfunction in a completely different area. She also discovered that Osteopathy was not a form of wizardry, but a way of thinking about the body and how the parts relate to each other structurally.
Over her years of practice, she observed that many people carry emotions along with limiting beliefs about themselves and the world in their bodies. This has been an area of deep research and many continued education hours: How to best help those who are ready to release these very physical holding symptoms of deeper emotional origins and restore their nervous system to a more balanced state. She's pleased to announce a new integrated and intuitive osteopathic treatment, offering a combination of mechanical, cranial and emotional release methods as needed.
In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and mountain biking with her family or reading a book in the sunshine. She’s also been known to optimistically take on physical activities like mud runs that leave her wondering whose terrible idea it was to begin with (always hers!).
